Choosing a life partner is a big decision, and in many Muslim cultures, it’s a decision made with family support. That’s why Oolfa includes a feature that lets you easily share someone’s profile with trusted family members or friends for advice, input, or introductions.
In this article, you’ll learn how to share a profile, who can receive it, and what to expect when you use this feature.
Why Share a Profile?
Sharing profiles helps you:
- Get feedback from your wali, sibling, parent, or a trusted friend
- Include your family early in the process, in line with Islamic values
- Move forward with confidence in your search for a spouse
Oolfa supports your desire for halal, family-involved relationships, and this feature makes it easier to involve others respectfully and securely.
How to Share a Profile on Oolfa
You can share any public profile (not in Incognito Mode) using either of the two methods below:
Method 1: Using the Menu Icon (Top of Profile)
- Open the profile you want to share.
- Tap the menu icon (three vertical dots) in the top-right corner.
- Tap Share Profile from the menu.
- Choose how you’d like to share the profile (e.g., WhatsApp, email, SMS).
Method 2: Using the Share Icon (Bottom of Profile)
- Scroll to the bottom of the same profile screen.
- Tap the share icon.
- Select your preferred method of sharing.
📌 Note: The person receiving the link must already have the Oolfa app installed. If they don’t, they won’t be able to view the profile.
What Information Gets Shared?
The shared profile includes only the public parts of the user’s profile:
- Profile photo
- Name, age, country, education, and personal details are visible to other users
Private conversations and sensitive account information are never shared.
🔐 Blurring still applies: If the profile owner has blurred their photos, they will remain blurred for anyone you share the profile with.
Best Practices When Sharing Profiles
- Only share with people you trust. Marriage is a serious topic — respect others’ privacy and your own.
- Keep it relevant. Share profiles only when you’re serious or seeking thoughtful input.
