Your photo album is an important part of your Oolfa profile. It helps other users get a sense of who you are—while still protecting your privacy and modesty at every step.
This article explains how to add, edit, and remove photos, and how Oolfa’s photo blurring works.
What is the Oolfa album?
Your Oolfa album is the set of photos that appears on your profile. It includes:
- Your main profile picture (the first photo you add)
- Up to five additional photos, for a total of six images in your album
These photos help potential matches understand more about you in a respectful and halal way.
How to Update Your Oolfa Album
To add or change photos in your Oolfa album:
- Log in to your Oolfa account
- Go to your Account screen
- Tap Edit My Profile
- To add a new photo, tap an empty photo slot
- To replace a photo, tap the existing image and follow the prompts
📌 Make sure your photos follow Oolfa’s Community Guidelines. Avoid inappropriate content, group photos, or images that don’t represent you clearly.
Granting Oolfa Access to Your Gallery or Camera
Before uploading photos, you must allow the app to access your gallery or camera through your phone’s settings.
For iPhone Users:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Go to Privacy & Security
- Tap Photos or Camera
- Find and select Oolfa
- Choose Allow Access While Using App or similar
- Return to the Oolfa app and upload your photo
You can also refer to Apple’s official guide if you need more help.
For Android Users:
- Open the Settings app on your phone.
- Tap Apps > Oolfa
- Go to Permissions
- Tap Photos and Videos or Camera, then select Allow
- Return to the Oolfa app and upload your photo
You can find more help in the Google Play Help Center.
How to Delete Photos from Your Album
While your first photo (profile picture) can be updated, it cannot be deleted entirely. The other photos can be removed at any time.
To delete a photo:
- Log in to your account
- Go to your Account screen
- Tap Edit My Profile
- Tap the photo you want to delete
- Follow the on-screen instructions
🔄 Consider replacing photos instead of deleting all of them. A complete album helps other members get to know you better.
Photo guidelines (what kind of photos to use)
To keep Oolfa safe, respectful, and aligned with Islamic values, please follow these guidelines:
- Use clear, recent photos of yourself.
- Dress in a modest and appropriate way.
- Avoid images that include:
- Nudity or revealing clothing
- Explicit, suggestive, or haram content
- Violent, hateful, or offensive imagery
- Do not upload:
- Other people’s photos without permission
- Logos, memes, or random pictures unrelated to you as your only photos
If a photo violates Oolfa’s guidelines, it may be removed and your account may be reviewed.
How photo blurring works
Oolfa is designed to protect your privacy by default.
- All your photos are blurred for everyone by default.
- When someone visits your profile, they can briefly preview your photos for a few seconds before sending you a like.
- Your photos become fully visible only after there is a mutual match (you like them and they like you).
You cannot choose to show unblurred photos to some users and keep them blurred for others outside this flow. Everyone sees your photos in the same way:
- Blurred by default
- Short preview before sending a like
- Fully visible only after a mutual match
This system gives you strong control over who ever sees your images clearly, while still allowing serious users to get to know you.
